Bruce Lanoil's talents defy normal categorization or explanation. Spawned in Brooklyn, New York, and fed a steady diet of Good Humor Ice Cream and sugary breakfast cereals, Bruce was heavily influenced by Bugs Bunny cartoons, Mad Magazine, and first -run Star Trek episodes. His big break came as the unanimous choice to be Santa Claus in his Fourth grade Pageant, the size of the part being perfect for the size of the actor. With his ego both bruised and inflated, Bruce headed to Hollywood in 1972.
      
      A true Stage junkie, the hand of fate intervened for the Cal. State Northridge Theater Major when Bruce was chosen from hundreds by Sid and Marty Krofft for a puppet workshop. Never having touched a puppet before, Bruce's talents for improvisation and crazy characters had finally found a home. Honing his skills with teachers like Paul Sills, Avery Schrieber, Tony Urbano and Harvey Kalmanson, Bruce was ready when Jim and Brian Henson came west to create the DINOSAURS television series with Disney and ABC.

    Puppets took over as Bruce traveled the world doing films, (Dr. Doolittle, Adventures of Pinocchio, Cats and Dogs) television, (Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, Aliens in the Family) and countless Muppet Projects. Meeting fellow Puppeteer Dave Barclay while shooting The Flintstones movie sequel, the two joined up to create PERFORMFX, a character creation company designed to push the boundaries of their art form, all in the never-ending search of truth, and a good bottle of Port.
