How do I make a puppet like those in Tim Burton’s film Corpse Bride? Rigging, materials like rubber, silicon?
Hello! I’m a student taking game design and animation. For my final project I wish to make a puppet like those in Corpse bride, I have looked up information best I can but am unable to find completely what I am looking for. I’m asking for a professional’s opinion or someone with experiance in this.
I know it’s stop-motion animation
I know it’s got electronics inside the head to create expressions as well as about 14 copies of each character with difference stances.
I need to know the step-by-step best able on how to make these. I plan on using a rigging skeleton system inside the body, I need to make molds, and use materials (like the plastics and silicons) they use, how to do those, what they use, and anything else that could be useful.
I need to know what materials the puppets are made of, how to do it, some alternate methods, the best methods to use with some pros and cons if available.

It’s a message board filled with stop motion animators helping eachother out. They may know what materials are needed tog et the kind of results you want. It’s also filled with stop motion enthusiasts who might know more about how the Corpse Bride puppets are made. They even have a handbook section that has basic answers and info on a variety of stop motion topics (armatures, sets, cameras, etc).
