Preferred Roaming List $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Preferred Roaming List (PRL) is a database residing in a wireless (primarily CDMA) device, such as a cellphone, that contains information used during the system selection and acquisition process. In the case of RUIMbased CDMA devices, the PRL resides on the RUIM. The PRL indicates which bands, sub bands and service provider identifiers will be scanned and in what priority order. Without a PRL, the device may not be able to roam, i.e. obtain service outside of the home area. There may be cases where missing or corrupt PRLs can lead to a customer not having service at all. On many networks, regularly updating the PRL is advised if the subscriber uses the device outside the home area frequently, particularly if they do so in multiple different areas. This allows the phone to choose the best roaming carriers, particularly roaming partners with whom the home carrier has a costsaving roaming agreement, rather than using nonaffiliated carriers. Roaming Shores is located at 41 38 20 N 80 49 42 W / 41.63889 N 80.82833 W / 41.63889; 80.82833 (41.638884, 80.828243). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km ), of which, 2.1 square miles (5.4 km ) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.9 km ) of it (25.71) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,239 people, 486 households, and 386 families residing in the village. The population density was 596.1 people per square mile (230.0/km ). There were 641 housing units at an average density of 308.4/sq mi (119.0/km ). The racial makeup of the village was 97.42 White, 1.61 African American, 0.16 Native American, 0.08 Asian, 0.08 Pacific Islander, and 0.65 from two or more races.
