What is the average cost of a 2 year olds Birthday party?

My husband is giving me a hard time telling me that I am spending too much on this party. Let me tell you, it sure does add up fast. I am a first time mom so I’m not really sure how this is supposed to work. We are having 8 kids and 17 adults which includes the parents of the kids, my husband and I and our parents. We are having our parents bring dishes of food to save on cost. Decorations and goody bags for each child cost us about $100. We need to rent a helium tank for $40. I am renting 2 sets of kid table and chairs for them to decorate their own cupcakes outside which cost $25. I am also having my daughters music teacher come for an hour to play instruments, sing songs, do a puppet show and some other things for $80. I think that about does it. We have another baby on the way and my husband says there is no way he is doing this twice a year. We need a budget for sure but what is a good budget? Every little thing adds up. Is the cost of our party under, at or above the average?

Birthdays can be anywhere from really simple, to exreamely overdone, so i wouldnt say theres a good average. I think your spending a lil too much. Make some of your own decorations, and for goody bags just do some candy or something, keep it simple. Your kids not gunna remember this, i dont think you need a heluim tank.
Anywho i say your budgets way overdone, and your blowing it outta proportion and that your husband is right, but thats just my opinion, whatever you do, have fun =]
