Making a puppet theatre – question about wood!?
Hi all, I’m making a puppet theatre as a gift for Christmas. The front part of the theatre will have a roof that I’m hoping to “slate”. By that I mean, I’m hoping to use a material that will make the roof appear to be slated.
I have thought about using sheets of wood that a soft of lolly-pop stick design (rectangle with rounded edges), and overlapping them slightly vertically. But that would mean buying timber then rounding the edges myself – which I wont be able to do.
Can anyone think of a material such as wood or even cardboard that is this sort of shape naturally? Maybe 9 centimeters (cms) long and 7 cms wide.

have you a /or access to a printer.if so draw and colour the slate design then print required amount and stick to card.if you print on cheap photo paper you will get a 3D effect by overlapping strips
