The Lion King Tickets
The Lion King is one of Broadways most incredibly spectacular shows. The play, which is based on the Disney movie of the same name, has been a successfully turned into an on-stage musical. Timon and Pumbaa, and all the other loveable jungle animals have been turned into amazing, full-sized puppets. The puppets are controlled by on-stage actors who wear the giant costumes.
This broadway musical has been running for almost twelve years. Discount Lion King tickets are not hard to find. If you want to see it, the summer is an apt time to go to New York City and see the show. Seen the show already? The Lion King is so good, you may want to see it twice. Just like in the Hamlet-based movie, the play opens with the show-stopping song, Circle of Life.
Everyone knows the tale of the now-famous Disney movie. Simba, the young prince of the Sahara, is convinced by Scar, his uncle, that he is responsible for his own father’s death. Simba is so scarred that he runs away. In reality, Scar wanted to take over the pride. While in hiding, Simba befriends Pumbaa, a warthog, and Timon, a meerkat, who teach him their philosophy of life: “Hakuna Matata” (it means no worries). Pumbaa and Timon are the movie’s most cute and funny creatures, and the stage isn’t much different. Their antics provide great comic relief throughout the show.
If you can get cheap Lion King tickets, definitely go and see it. But order you tickets ahead of time. They are hard to come by, as this is one of Broadway’s most popular shows. This is one show you can take your kids to and know that both they and you will like it. The costumer for the Lion King has turned this simplistic show into an artistic experience of amazing proportions. Her use of costuming and puppetry is revolutionary and ground breaking. The Lion King has a cast of 46 and features more than 100 puppets, some of which are more than 20 feet tall.
You can’t talk about the show, however, without mentioning the amazing score. Featuring most of the familiar songs from the movie, there are three full new songs added to the mix by writers Elton John and Tim Rice. The music is mixed with more traditional African rhythms. The composer Lebo M has contributed emotionally charged rhythmic chants to the show.
The spectacular show won a Tony for best new musical back in 1998. Even today, twelve years after its win, the show is still hard to get into. Even if you’ve seen the movie countless times or even if you’ve seen the show already, The Lion King is an experience you’ll want to repeat more than once.

Popular Puppet Theatre in Europe, 1800 1914 $87.62 Banned, marginalised, tolerated or neglected, puppets were a major form of entertainment of the subordinate classes in the nineteenth century. Showmen travelled from one end of Europe to the other bringing everything from biblical plays to melodramas and variety to audiences who experienced them as their only form of dramatic entertainment. The first study of its kind in English, Popular Puppet Theatre in Europe is less a history than a comparative study, highlighting a significant aspect of social and cultural history from a national and transnational perspective. It examines the showmen, their audiences, the performance context, and the technical and practical aspects of the puppets and their stages. War Comics $124.27 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles War comics is a genre of comic books that gained popularity in Englishspeaking countries following World War II. Shortly after the birth of the modern comic book in the mid to late 1930s, comics publishers began including stories of wartime adventures in the multigenre omnibus titles then popular as a format. Even prior to the U.S. involvement in World War II, comic books such as Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941) depicted superheroes fighting Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. In the postwar era, comic books devoted solely to war stories began appearing, and gained popularity through the 1950s. Several anthologies by various publishers began to appear, such as Frontline Combat by EC. The most prolific publisher of war comics was Charlton Comics who produced a wide variety of titles beginning in the 1950s, such as Battlefield Action, though the mainstream publishers such as DC also began to produce war titles, which gained in popularity in the United States and Canada even during the Vietnam War. The titles tended to concentrate on US military depictions, generally in World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War. Lobo (DC Comics) $101.96 Lobo is a fictional character that appears in the comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appears in Omega Men (June 1983), and was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. An alien, Lobo works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Although introduced as a hardened, rarelyused noir villain in the 1980s, he languished in limbo until his revival as an antihero biker in the early 1990s. The character enjoyed a short run as one of DCs most popular characters throughout the 1990s. This version of Lobo was intended to be an overthetop parody of Marvel Comics superhero Wolverine. I have no idea why Lobo took off, Giffen once said in an interview. Referring to the 1990s incarnation of Lobo he created, he said, I came up with him as an indictment of the Punisher, Wolverine, hero prototype and somehow he caught on as the high violence poster boy. Hellfire Club (Comics) $108.33 The Hellfire Club is a fictional society within the Marvel Comics Universe that often comes into confrontation with the mutant superhero team, the XMen. Although the Club appears to merely be an international social club for wealthy elites, its clandestine Inner Circle seeks to influence world events to their own agenda. Created by the Uncanny XMen writer/artist duo of Chris Claremont and John Byrne, they were heavily influenced by a 1966 episode of the British television series The Avengers ( A Touch of Brimstone ). The name Hellfire Club in fact has a historical precedent, having been a popular name for gentlemens clubs in the 1700s. The Hellfire Club as such adheres to an 18th century dress code. Additionally, the hierarchy of the Inner Circle is modeled on the pieces of a chess set, with Black and White sets of Kings, Queens, Bishops and Rooks. The Hellfire Club and its Inner Circle were introduced in the Dark Phoenix Saga, attempting to subvert the XMens Jean Grey. This incarnation, composed most notably of Black King Sebastian Shaw and White Queen Emma Frost, would remain prominent for many years.
